o Dog, Pig and Chicken are the best friends in the barn. One day they decide to go and explore the world. Chicken is awfully scared, but since the three of them are friends, she goes along. They see the world as if they were ancient explorers moving into wild unexplored nature, and the beautiful illustrations made by Carla Besora convey precisely the emotions of someone who sees the world for the first time.
Along the way chicken is so scared, that while Dog is controlling the journey, and Pig is admiring the landscape, she can’t stop laying eggs. One egg after the other.
In the end, the three friends will find themselves lost at night in the middle of the woods, where they hear menacing howling. When it seems there’s no hope left, Chicken notices that her eggs are shining under the moonbeams. Those eggs will lead the three friends safely home.
A sweet and funny story that tells how friends are important, no matter they little defects, because these defects are exactly what makes them absolutely necessary.
